Overwhelming vote against U.S. embargo on Cuba
UNITED NATIONS, Oct. 26 .- By overwhelming majority, the international community rejected the criminal blockade against Cuba in the General Assembly when 187 countries voted in favor of the Cuban resolution calling for the repeal of the criminal genocidal policy . The vote on the resolution A-65-N3 on the necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial center of the United States of America against Cuba, showed again the U.S. alone in its harassment of the island when only two countries , one of which the U.S. itself and its ally Israel, voted against and three abstained: Marshall Islands, Micronesia and Palau, virtual U.S. protectorate.
Minutes earlier, to ask the House to comment on the text, the Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, called the blocking of hostile act and should cease unilateral unilaterally and said that our country will not relent ever in denouncing the policy and to defend the Cuban people's right to live and work for its development without economic siege and without external pressure.

In his speech, the Cuban foreign minister said that despite the universal rejection of the criminal and genocidal policy, during 2010 the siege has been tightened and remains visible in all aspects of life in Cuba, with serious impact on areas as health and nutrition, and inflicted damage to the Cuban economy for more than 50 years, valued at 751.363 million dollars.
The current U.S. government has reiterated that the blockade will remain unchanged, then that President Obama endorsement course sanctions referring to the U.S. national interest, he said.
Also, he said, remains the unjust punishment of five Cuban anti-terrorism for over 12 years in prison, whose case has attracted the largest global solidarity.
In another part of his speech, RodrÃguez Parrilla also noted that despite the rejection by almost all international forums to anti-Cuban policy, everyone knows that the White House continues to pay attention to the small minority that has made a policy against Cuba lucrative business, and said there was no intention to lift the blockade, not even their most egregious penalties.
The Cuban foreign minister also rejected the U.S. intend to meddle in the affairs that defined the Cuban people for their economic development and development of socialism, and said the White House has ignored the statements and proposals by the Government of Cuba, in public and private, to ratify the will of a serious and constructive dialogue in conditions of equality and respect for our sovereignty and independence.
Parrilla RodrÃguez denied that the blockade is a bilateral issue, as the U.S. pretends, and reiterated that it is a unilateral act must stop unilaterally.
